The staff at Good Dogs have a combined experience of over 30+ years working with dogs, including grooming, kennels and vet receptionists.

Our staff are all Canine First Aid Trained by Rachel Bean, RVA MCFBA. Which includes practical training.

QUALIFIED AND STILL LEARNING

As well as having years of experience the team is still working towards new career and advancing their canine knowledge.

We are fully licensed by South Ribble Council and we achieved a 5 star rating! We are fully insured by Pet Plan Sanctuary for public liability and the care of your dog and our staff.

KERSHAW

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Amy's passion is sled dogs! She has a team of 6 dogs, 3 Alaskan Malamutes, 2 Siberian Huskies and a Huskamute. Amy is a member of AMWA (Alaskan Malamute Working Association) and is completing the pack dog scheme all the way up to platinum, which involves backpacking a total of 180 miles with her dogs!

 

Amy has been working professionally with dogs since 2012 after completing a FDSc degree in Animal Welfare. Amy is continuing to develop her professional dog skills and is a member of KCAI, working towards being a Kennel Club Accredited dog trainer.

Louise has worked at Good Dogs for 4 years and has completed her apprenticeship studying Animal Care at Myerscough College.

Louise owns 2 Pomeranian's called Theo and Coco who she loves taking for hikes. She spends her weekends walking , camping and taking photos.

GOOD DOGS ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR

Lydia has been working at Good Dogs for 2 years as a daycare operator. Her previous work portfolio consists of Vet Receptionist, Dog Groomer, kennels and volunteered at a dog rescue.

Lydia owns Zep the Border Terrier (Pictured to the right), who loves to have a good snooze and watching horror films with his mum.

Antonia has 2 Shih Tzu's called Tootsie & Chico.

Chloe began working at Good Dogs Daycare as a work experience from Myerscough College. Once Chloe completed her Level 3 in Animal Care Good Dogs employed her full time. Chloe is going on to study Canine Behaviour at University soon!

Chloe has 2 German Short Hair Pointers called Bruno & Amber.

Abi completed her work experience placement for 2 years while studying her level 3 at Myeerscough College. We (and the dogs at daycare) loved Abi working here that we took her on full time after her course finished.

Abi has three dogs, 2 cockers and a springer spaniel called Spencer, Audrey & Mabel.

DAYCARE DOG WALKER

Gina began her dog  career as a dog walker while providing care for young adults with complex needs. Gina enjoys providing enrichment for the dogs. We are looking forward to putting Gina through some qualifications to further develop her career.

Gina has an 8 year old Springer Spaniel named Rosie, who loves going swimming.

Work Experience

& Apprenticships

We regularly take on work experience from Myerscough College and Wigan & Leigh College, for students studying Animal Studies. We have had a lot of positive feedback from students who have completed their work experience at Good Dogs. Some work experience have been taken on as employees after their work placement ends. We have been awarded with a certificate of recognition for support for students at Myerscough College.

We also take on apprenticeships provided by Myerscough College for students who want to focus more on canine studies while learning. We currently have 1 places available. Visit Indeed to see the application.
